Â鶹´«Ã½â€™s main admissions entry point is Kindergarten. (Note: we do accept applications for all grades; however, enrollment availability varies from grade to grade based on each grade’s specific enrollment.)

Â鶹´«Ã½’s K-8 model fosters a focused, collaborative learning environment where gifted students are pushed beyond their potential. More importantly, they are able to remain children during their time at Â鶹´«Ã½, developing into young adults without external pressures as they gain leadership skills, independence, and a clear path to choosing the right high school when they are ready to share their voice with the world.

Gifted learners take many different forms and, at Â鶹´«Ã½, they are as diverse as the city they call home. Often, they exhibit a passion for learning, a knack for quickly measuring facts, and an inclination to ask deep, probing questions. In many cases, they use sophisticated vocabulary and demonstrate an interest in (and understanding of) such abstract concepts as beauty or justice. In others, they can exhibit the ability to easily manipulate spatial concepts and buildings or create detailed and complex artwork or music. Often, they have a strong sense of fairness, a rollicking sense of humor, and an ability to empathize that is beyond their years.

Founded in 1965, ISAAGNY aims to ensure orderly, professional, and equitable admissions processes at member schools: we do so by observing a shared admissions timeline, engaging in professional development to hone our collective craft, exchanging resources and best practices, and more. The resulting spirit of cooperation serves schools, families, and nearly 30,000 students across greater New York.
