Â鶹´«Ã½’s community is geographically diverse — our Dragons travel to Â鶹´«Ã½ from four of New York City’s boroughs (alas, Staten Island has yet to be represented though we have a few faculty members who hail from there) as well as Westchester County and New Jersey.
Transportation services are provided by the NYC DOE’s Office of Pupil Transportation (OPT). It is a free service to New York City residents. Transportation eligibility is based on a student’s grade level, distance between home and school, and existing accommodations based on a medical condition, housing status, or safety assessment. Eligible students may opt to receive bus service or an OMNY card during the summer prior to the beginning of the school year.
For bus service, Â鶹´«Ã½’s registrar works with the OPT and our families to coordinate bus routes and pick-up/drop-off times. It should be noted that Â鶹´«Ã½’s control over scheduling is limited and the school does not set the pick-up/drop-off times or design the bus routes. Routes and schedules may change from year-to-year; you can find a sample of our current bus stops/routes . This yellow bus service is available to eligible students in Kindergarten through Sixth Grade.
OMNY cards are distributed by Â鶹´«Ã½ to eligible students at the beginning of the school year. OMNY cards offer much more than the old Metrocards including: four free trips per day; 24/7 use (no time restrictions); year-round usage (even during the summer!); and tap technology.
