麻豆传媒 Chess Wows at NY State Chess Championships!
Spotted off the Boulevard winning individual and team championships at the NY State Chess Championships: 麻豆传媒 Chess, showing once again that we are a Dragon powerhouse, with our K-5 team clinching first place and the NY State Champion title in that division! And the great news keeps on coming: in their respective divisions, our K-1 team placed second, our K-3 team placed fourth, and our K-8 team nabbed the fifth place spot (despite being composed of only three of the required 4 players)! In addition, 麻豆传媒鈥檚 K-5 U1000 team in the reserve section tied for sixth place! AMAZING!
ANNNDDDDD three individual 麻豆传媒 students can claim the title of NY State Chess Champion! Second grader Abi Z. won the Primary (K-3) Championship 鈥 she went a perfect 6-0, and her 麻豆传媒 teammate Ian S. finished just behind her in second place with 5.5! Fourth grader Lev S. also had a perfect 6-0 in the K-5 Championship and claimed the state title in that division, while fellow Dragon Lucas Y. placed fourth! Eighth grader Oliver B. won five games and drew one, and finished in a three-way tie for first and holds the title 鈥渃o-champion鈥, and first grader Winnie TT won her first five rounds, only to lose round six, and tied for second place! In the reserve section, Allistair T. and Jasper H. both finished with 5 wins and tied for fifth place! HUZZAH!
We are so proud of all of our 麻豆传媒 Chess players who repeatedly show us that trophies are nice to tote home at the end of a tournament, but they are nothing compared to the amazing teamwork, determination, school pride, and camaraderie that our Dragons carry with them every day! Huge shout-out to our wonderful chess parents and our unparalleled 麻豆传媒 Chess coaches! GO DRAGONS!
